The last weekend in September once again marked the epic World Brotherhood Camporee, this year held at Wellesley Island State Park in the 1000 Islands. The weather was good, and scouts got to trade patches with their Canadian counterparts in bright sunshine. The traditional Brotherhood game of Vonaball occupied the afternoon for many scouts, followed by a hearty dinner, and then the Saturday night pre-recorded pop song extravaganza, where Troop 400 sold over 200 dollars worth of glow-in-the-dark necklaces. Other troops regrettably turned them into weapons and projectiles, but it was a highly effective 20-minute fundraiser, nonetheless.

The weather finally gave out, and when it was time to pack up on Sunday morning, all our gear was wet -- as always. Nevertheless, 2006 was a great World Brotherhood. Next year, it's back in Canada!
